PRP Leonard, the Groundhog 9-29-09

I think Leonard is one of the largest groundhogs I've seen. Note the orange belly. I saw one standing far away recently and thought it was a fox!

Tonight, we had the bear and the porcupine!!

They are now very close together . The bear knows better! Porcupines give the illusion of "shooting" their quills by their actions when alarmed. The hair and quills stand up making the porcupine appear larger and quills are very loose in the skin and easily detached when touched.
