More Eagles - Feb.

A wonderful lady with BIG camera who visits the Park gave us this photo. Best one I've seen this season of both adults. (A little blurry as it had to be scanned)

The Coopers Visit

A juvenile Cooper's Hawk stopped by close to the bird feeder. No one was there, except a couple frisky squirrels did run on the fence top.

Juvie's spotted back...
Today, an adult Cooper came to visit.

Feb. 14 Park Eagle Nest

Was lucky to see a fly-in. Believe his partner is sitting low in the nest on eggs.

There was no switch with partners and after awhile, eagle flew back to another tree.

Feb. 10, Juvie Eagle Visit

A third year juvenile eagle came up for breakfast.

YUM , YUM!
Looking out at the river for perhaps a second helping.

The base of the beak is starting to turn yellow.

Feb. 10, Park Eagle Nest

Usually when driving by, the nest looks empty. But is it a bird or a speck of sky?

It's a BIRD!! She must have stood up and was seen after about 45 minutes at the nest. So the theory of egg sitting must be true!
Far behind the nest was probably Dad on a dead tree trunk.

With no leaves blocking the view, the whole nest tree can be seen. Fairly smooth, grey bark as a beech tree, not a sycamore.

A TWO EGG Day 2-3-09

The white patch under her nose certainly is wide enough to be more than one egg, although they are not clear. I darkened just the center of the nest to avoid that glare and show some contrast.

Jan. 31 Park Eagles +

Got lucky in the morning and witnessed a fly-in!

Checked the other boat ramp in the afternoon and saw Henry Heron who does not have to observe Park rules!

Some Common Mergansers were also there.
