Chelsea Surprise! 7-29-11

We have been getting a glimpse of "Little Spotty" who likes to lay under the big holly tree in front of the office. This afternoon, he/she went to the right side of the field and laid under another tree. At 5:30 PM, Ms. Hoppy and the twins appeared...

"I sure like this pokeweed!"
Ms. Hoppy and the (baby) boys approached the holly tree....

All of a sudden, Little Spotty dashed from the right, through the tall field and landed under Ms. Hoppy!!!....
If you peek through the grass, some spots can be seen. After not seeing adult deer very much, we were so happy that the little one has the best Mom ever!...

Ospreys + 7-12-11

"First Osprey Family" cam nest (not online now) viewed from the top of the hill near admin. building. Single parent, Dad, is on top the roof support..

Very hard to see, but 2 chicks are on right side of nest in some shade....
A closer view from the boat ramp is too low to see the chicks, but Dad is in the back of the nest...

Here's a lovely red-eyed boy that might be trekking to see Myrtle....

Stage 2 in the saga of the weed that wouldn't die, fleabane, shows new flowers emerging from the leaf axils all along the stems--not just the top!!..
