Park Eagle Nest, Tuesday, 1-27-15

Someone was in the nest on last Tuesday PM.....

 Then, as I walked to the car, the mate landed in the nest!....

 After awhile (& some HP), he flew away.....

 Mrs. Pat went back to work nestorating!....

Park Eagle Visits, Tuesday, 1-20-15

 This juvie eagle perched near our Visitors Center on Tuesday morning...

 Then, there was a "whole lot of squawking" because...

...a second juvenile landed in the treetop...

Both decided to fly away....

 The first eagle came and went a few times as the sky began to get grey....

 After 4 PM, one of the nest eagles was on guard!....

Holiday Visitor 12-23-14

A juvie eagle surprised everyone by perching in a tree near the Visitors Center.  He/she sat far enough away to be surrounded by mist over the river...

 

Monday's Eagle, 12-8-14

Several staff members at the Park saw this eagle dive into the Patuxent River. Then it started swimming, found a tree stump and began lunch with a juvie seagull! One of our naturalists took this picture through the telescope with her cell phone!!!...

Surprise, Surprise!!! Nov. 11, 2014

Early Tuesday AM, an eagle (hiding in the back) flew into the nest with a long stick!  Sorry about the blur~~far away and too much vegetation. The new stick may be the greenish one in front, as we didn't see it again....

 

 A longer shot to show some color, but we know who's back there!  These pics were taken after 4 PM.....

 

Eagle Nest and Home Critters

The Park eagle nest AFTER an eagle flew by it and landed out of sight in trees behind!....

Baby possum sneaks up on the leftovers even though yearling kitty, Panda, is there!...

  

 Possum even stays when Panda is joined by one of her kittens, Whiteface!...
