Ospreys Return to Patuxent River Park

Our first ospreys were sighted about 3 times on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. In the afternoon, over Jug Bay (a wide part of the river), all the gulls lifted into the air and soared downstream, but a darker figure flew toward the bank. It landed on a post with fish in foot!!.......



Soon an eagle approached and an aerial food fight ensued.The osprey WON
and returned to another nearby post.......


Two minutes later, he moved to a larger perch.......



Our boy is back!
