Some Birds of Greece

Some collared doves at the National Garden, Athens.
The "collar" shows on this one who was at the Acropolis. They are larger and louder than our mourning doves.
A blackbird at the Gardens. It has a distinctive orange-yellow bill.
A magpie clinging to edge of an ancient theatre at the Acropolis where performances are still held!
Our favorite, the hoopoe, came in for a landing while we were descending the Acropolis. It looked at first like a large woodpecker. The crest can open and each tan feather is topped by a black ball.
