Mystery Bird Along the River

This bird was right off the boardwalk, but when first seen was a side view and the belly was light yellow. Perhaps it's a juvenile as it has some multi-color mottling on it's upper back. Was about 6". Didn't have wing bars, eye ring, pointed head, so that rules out vireo, gnatcatcher, or flycatcher. Any ideas?

Could it be a juvenile male or female bluebird getting its full colors? Still looking...

Great Picture, whatever it is !

Great picture Loretta! I believe it's a female eastern bluebird. I had a nest several years ago(I had on this year but a black ratsnake ate the babies...) and the female looked like that, a bit ragged after raising the babies, with some molting as it looks to be in this picture. Of course, I'm no bird "expert"! Hope you get a chance to get another look!
