Special Park Birds 12-14-13

First sighting ever in this area of a painted bunting!!! It is either a female or first winter male that probably blew up from Carolinas in the storm.  The male has several feather colors---Google! This is a "picture of a picture" taken by one of our naturalists on Friday, 12-13-13. She/he was actually spotted in Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary right next door!....
Early Saturday morning, we were given a show with this adult eagle flying back and forth and "singing", too. We then spotted a perched eagle to whom he was performing!....
Later a lovely juvie landed close to our office and stayed for a couple hours!...

Later it got a little brighter next to the telephone pole....
