Nests, nests everywhere. This rookery is about 10 miles south of Patuxent River Park in Brandywine, MD. It achieved much renown in the early 1980s, as our Park Director at that time wrote a story for National Geographic. We used to view it from the top of a ridge, but in the mid-80's a terrible spring thunderstorm destroyed trees and some chicks. They have moved to other trees and now you must descend the steep hill to the rookery which compromises the viewing. There have been 100 nests. Currently about 50 are occupied......
