Park Flora, 4-9-11

Through the winter, the smaller beech trees keep their leaves and show a nice contrast....

All the following are on the Nature Study Loop in the marsh.

Here are the roots of Big Beech.... Some of the tree. Hope he doesn't "tilt" soon....
Fiddlehead ferns sprouting amongst the skunk cabbage...
Beginnings of Virginia Bluebells.There are some trillium in the middle...

Loretta, that tree is really TILKING...needs some props. Looks like something has made a path to the tree and may live under the roots:)
Lovely Spring flowers and plants...look so fresh, I can almost smell the woods!
