On the morning of 3-15-11, four pairs of wood ducks landed in trees next to the Patuxent River. Here is a female with the distinctive white "teardrop" around her eye....
There was a heron convention with one great egret on 3-29-11! Ten herons and the one egret started the meeting, but by afternoon the egret and three herons remained....... 
Storm clouds appear over Mt. Calvert Mansion in the background on 4-5-11. In the foreground is a heron under the osprey platform.....

Oh boy, we saw that mansion and herons in the water in April 2009 also...neat pictures, Loretta !
